Ain't it Grand!

The Grand Rapids Griffins won their first Calder Cup on Tuesday night, defeating the Syracuse Crunch, 5-2, in Game 6 of the American Hockey League's championship series at the Onondaga County War Memorial at Oncenter.

Crunch can count on Cote

At this point in his career, J.P. Cote has learned to not rush through the fun. He is an indispensable part of the Syracuse Crunch, a rugged heart-and-soul blueliner without whom it is difficult to imagine the team reaching this point.

Blashill shy about taking credit for long run

Jeff Blashill has won everywhere he has gone, and it’s no different this season. Grand Rapids is in the Calder Cup Finals for the first time in franchise history, holding a 3-2 series lead. But he doesn’t want to talk about it himself.
