Admirals’ Suter named to U.S. WJC team

Milwaukee Admirals rookie defenseman Ryan Suter is one of 22 players named today by USA Hockey to the United States’ roster for the upcoming 2005 World Junior Championships, to be played Dec. 25 to Jan. 4 in Grand Forks, N.D., and Thief River Falls, Minn.

Suter, 19, has recorded one goal and four assists along with a plus-7 rating in 12 games with Milwaukee this season, his first out of the University of Wisconsin.

Suter was the seventh overall pick in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Nashville Predators.

A native of Madison, Wisc., Suter will be playing in his third WJC, including the United States’ gold-medal performance at last year’s event.
