Aeros end winless drought, beat Admirals in shootout

Miroslav Kopriva stopped 42 of 44 shots in regular play and all four shootout attempts for his first AHL win of the season as Houston defeated Milwaukee on Thursday, 3-2.

In a game that started at 11:05 a.m. local time at the Toyota Center, Roman Voloshenko tallied a goal in regulation and added a goal in the shootout as the Aeros ended a four-game losing streak.

Fresh off his performance in the 2007 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic, Curtis Murphy netted the other regulation goal for the Aeros, while defenseman Shawn Belle recorded the decisive goal in the shootout for Houston.

Cal O’Reilly led the way for Milwaukee, scoring a goal and an assist in the loss.
