AHL announces staff addition

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … American Hockey League President and Chief Executive Officer David Andrews announced today that Emily Aasand has been named Manager of Digital and Social Media for the AHL.

Aasand joins the league office having most recently worked as a communication specialist for the University of North Dakota Alumni Association and Foundation. Her experience in professional and collegiate hockey includes full-time public relations internships with the Philadelphia Flyers in 2013-14 and the University of North Dakota athletic department in 2012-13.

A native of Devils Lake, N.D., Aasand graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in communications.

In operation since 1936, the AHL continues to serve as the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. More than 88 percent of today’s NHL players are American Hockey League graduates, and for the 14th year in a row, more than 6 million fans attended AHL games across North America in 2014-15.
