AHL announces suspension

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced that Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins right wing Jesse Boulerice has been suspended for ten (10) games as a result of his actions in a game at Charlotte on Jan. 5.

Boulerice was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline) after review of an incident in the third period of Wednesday’s game. Boulerice was determined to have deliberately applied physical force to an official without intent to injure, which carries a 10-game suspension under AHL Rule 40.3.

Boulerice will begin serving his suspension tonight (Jan. 7) vs. Bridgeport. He will be eligible to return to the Penguins lineup on Jan. 28.
