AHL announces suspensions

The American Hockey League announced today that Grand Rapids Griffins left wing Peter Vandermeer has been suspended for four (4) regular season games as a result of his actions in an April 3, 2005 AHL game in Hamilton.

Vandermeer will begin serving his suspension on Thursday, Apr. 7, at San Antonio. He will be eligible to return on Apr. 15 vs. Cincinnati.

The AHL also announced that Cincinnati Mighty Ducks defenseman Shane O’Brien has been suspended for three (3) regular season games as a result of his actions in a March 30 AHL game in Houston.

O’Brien served his suspension on Fri., Apr. 1, at San Antonio; Sat., Apr. 2, vs. Chicago and Sun., Apr. 3 vs. Utah. He is eligible to return immediately.
