AHL announces suspensions

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced that Bridgeport Sound Tigers defenseman Scott Mayfield has been suspended for six (6) games and Hershey Bears left wing Liam O’Brien has been suspended for three (3) games as a consequence of their actions in a game between the teams at Hershey on Feb. 21. 

Mayfield has already served one game of his suspension. He will also miss Bridgeport’s games Friday (Feb. 27) and Saturday (Feb. 28) at Springfield; Sunday (Mar. 1) vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton; Mar. 6 at Lehigh Valley; and Mar. 7 at Worcester. 

O’Brien has already served one game of his suspension. He will also miss Hershey’s games Friday (Feb. 27) at Binghamton and Saturday (Feb. 28) vs. Albany.
