AHL announces suspensions

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced that Syracuse Crunch forwards Zenon Konopka and Derek Dorsett and Lake Erie Monsters defenseman Mitch Love have each been suspended for one (1) game as a result of their actions in a game between the teams on Apr. 8.
 
Konopka and Dorsett both received automatic one-game suspensions under AHL Rule 23.3 for accumulating their third game misconducts in the general category this season. Love was assessed an instigator penalty within the final five minutes of the third period, resulting in an automatic one-game suspension under AHL Rule 47.21.
 
Konopka and Dorsett will miss Syracuse’s game on Friday (Apr. 11) at Rochester. Love will miss Lake Erie’s game on Saturday (Apr. 12) vs. Hamilton.
 
The AHL also announced that San Antonio Rampage defenseman Keith Yandle has been suspended for two (2) games as a result of his actions during an AHL game at Iowa on Apr. 8.
 
Yandle was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 29.1 (supplementary discipline) after receiving a game misconduct for boarding at 9:38 of the second period.
 
Yandle will miss San Antonio’s games on Friday (Apr. 11) at Peoria and Saturday (Apr. 12) vs. Quad City.
