AHL announces suspensions

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced that San Antonio Rampage left wing Peter Vandermeer has been suspended for three (3) games as a result of his actions during an AHL game at Quad City on Feb. 16.

Vandermeer received an automatic two-game suspension under AHL Rule 23.3 for accumulating his fourth game misconduct in the general category this season; and an automatic one-game suspension under AHL Rule 47.10 for accumulating his third instigating misconducts this season.

Vandermeer will miss San Antonio’s games today at Quad City, Tuesday (Feb. 19) at Grand Rapids and Friday (Feb. 22) vs. Lake Erie.

The American Hockey League also announced that Hamilton Bulldogs left wing Greg Stewart has been suspended for one (1) game as a result of his actions during an AHL game vs. Lake Erie on Feb. 16.

Stewart received an automatic one-game suspension under AHL Rule 23.5 for accumulating his second game misconduct in the boarding/checking from behind category this season.

Stewart will miss Hamilton’s game today at Rochester.
