AHL announces suspensions

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced that Bridgeport Sound Tigers forward Kip Brennan has been suspended for fifteen (15) games as a result of delivering a hit to the head of Portland Pirates forward Geoff Peters during an AHL game between the teams on Feb. 9.

Brennan was assessed a match penalty at 16:39 of the first period under AHL Rule 47.14 for punching an unsuspecting opponent and causing injury.

Brennan will miss Bridgeport’s next 15 regular-season games. He will be eligible to return on Mar. 15.

The AHL also announced that San Antonio Rampage defenseman Travis Roche has been suspended for three (3) games as a result of his actions during an AHL game at Hamilton on Feb. 8.

Roche was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 29.1 (supplementary discipline).

Roche will miss San Antonio’s games on Friday (Feb. 15) at Peoria, Saturday (Feb. 16) at Quad City and Sunday (Feb. 17) at Quad City.
