AHL announces suspensions

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced that Rockford IceHogs defenseman Bobby Shea has been suspended for eight (8) games and Rockford defenseman Jared Nightingale has been suspended for six (6) games as a consequence of their actions in a game at Chicago on Mar. 21.

Shea was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline) as a result of his game misconduct for fighting off the playing surface, as well as for an elbowing incident.

Nightingale was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline) for leaving the players’ bench for the purpose of starting an altercation.

Shea and Nightingale will both miss Rockford’s games tonight (Mar. 22) vs. Chicago, Friday (Mar. 28) vs. Grand Rapids, Mar. 29 at Grand Rapids, Mar. 30 vs. Chicago, Apr. 4 at Abbotsford and Apr. 5 at Abbotsford. Shea will also miss Rockford’s games Apr. 8 at Milwaukee and Apr. 11 vs. Milwaukee.
