The Atlantic Division Finals move to the Dunkin’ Donuts Center as Providence hosts Hershey in Game 3 tonight… The series is even after the Bears’ 3-2 overtime victory on Sunday evening, as Travis Boyd (1-2-3) scored 5:44 into the extra period after Christian Djoos (2-3-5) tied it with 2:30 to go in regulation… Djoos’s goal was Hershey’s first power-play marker of the postseason, ending an 0-for-18 drought… Chris Bourque (2-2-4) earned his 80th career AHL playoff assist on Djoos’s goal, tying him with Darren Haydar for the most in league history… Madison Bowey (1-2-3) also scored for the Bears in Game 2, his first goal since Dec. 2, 2016… Wayne Simpson (3-2-5) netted both goals for the Bruins on Sunday, and Danton Heinen (4-4-8) registered a pair of assists… Pheonix Copley (4-3, 2.24, .925) made 25 saves as Hershey snapped a five-game postseason losing streak on home ice dating back to last spring… Zane McIntyre (4-3, 2.22, .933) stopped 25 of 28 shots in defeat… McIntyre has allowed two regulation goals or fewer in six of his seven playoff starts… The Bruins have been outshot 91-65 in the first period of their seven playoff games, but have outscored their opponents 8-0… Providence is 4-0 this postseason when scoring the game’s first goal, and 0-3 when allowing it.

In Stanley Cup Playoff action yesterday, 2016 AHL All-Star Nick Ritchie scored the winning goal to send Anaheim into the Western Conference Finals with a 2-1 win over Edmonton… Marc-Andre Fleury made 29 saves and Bryan Rust and Patric Hornqvist scored as Pittsburgh advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals with a 2-0 win in Washington.

In the 2017 IIHF World Championships yesterday, Brock Nelson scored twice and his former Bridgeport Sound Tigers teammate Anders Lee added a goal as the United States defeated Italy, 3-0… 2016 AHL All-Star Mikko Rantanen tallied a goal and an assist and 2016 Calder Cup champion Markus Hannikainen scored a goal as Finland defeated Slovenia, 5-2.


On This Date
May 11, 2012 Cam Talbot makes 44 saves for Connecticut but Richard Panik scores in overtime to give Norfolk a 2-1 win and send the Admirals to the Eastern Conference Finals.

May 11, 2010Jamie Benn scores 4:57 into overtime as Texas, which trailed 2-0, 4-2 and 5-4, grabs a 6-5 win at Chicago in Game 7 of the West Division Finals.

May 11, 1979 – The Maine Mariners win their second consecutive Calder Cup, wrapping up a four-game sweep with an 8-4 win over New Haven.
