Chicago hosts Iowa in Game 2 of the Central Division Finals tonight, with puck drop coming 21 hours after last night’s contest ended… Cody Glass scored with 1:21 remaining in the first overtime period to give Chicago a 3-2 win and a 1-0 series lead… The victory ended the Wolves’ six-game losing streak in Game 1’s; their most recent win in a series opener had been in the first round of the 2014 postseason (vs. Rochester)… Brooks Macek and AHL MVP Daniel Carr returned to the Chicago lineup last night; Macek had missed the previous 17 games due to injury, and Carr had been out for 23 contests… Macek scored the first goal of Game 1, and Carr finished with two assists… Nic Hague (2-2-4) also scored for the Wolves, his third straight game with a point… Oscar Dansk (3-1, 2.33, .917) made 26 saves in earning his third straight win… Gerald Mayhew (6-1-7) scored both of Iowa’s goals in Game 1 and took over the AHL lead with six goals on the postseason… Andrew Hammond (3-3, 2.01, .924) stopped 26 of 29 shots but lost to Chicago for the first time in four starts this season… Iowa was 0-for-3 on the power play in Game 1, the first time this postseason that the Wild failed to score at least once with a man advantage… The Wolves are bidding for their first 2-0 series lead since 2010 (first round vs. Milwaukee)… Five of the teams’ nine meetings this season have now required overtime.

In last night’s Stanley Cup Playoff action, two-time AHL All-Star Curtis McElhinney made 28 saves and Teuvo Teravainen scored twice as Carolina defeated the N.Y. Islanders, 5-2, to take a 3-0 series lead… McElhinney, who appeared in 13 career Calder Cup Playoff games with Omaha (2007) and Springfield (2013), became the oldest goaltender in NHL history to make his first career Stanley Cup Playoff start… Jason Dickinson and Roope Hintz, both coming off a trip to the Calder Cup Finals with Texas a year ago, scored to help Dallas to a 4-2 victory over St. Louis in Game 4 of their series… Hintz’s five goals this postseason are tied with Carolina’s Warren Foegele for the most among NHL rookies.
