The Atlantic Division Finals continue this evening as Hershey hosts Providence in Game 2… The Bruins scored three quick goals midway through the first period – including two shorthanded markers on the same minor – en route to a 3-1 win in Game 1 last night… Austin Czarnik (1-1-2) netted his first goal of the playoffs 10:08 into the game to give Providence a 1-0 lead… Colby Cave (1-3-4) and Jake DeBrusk (4-1-5) then scored 56 seconds apart while Providence was skating down a man to open up a three-goal cushion… Zane McIntyre (4-2, 2.13, .939) made 24 saves, and has stopped 101 of 105 shots (.962) during the Bruins’ current three-game winning streak… Nathan Walker (2-2-4) scored the Bears’ only goal in Game 1, an extra-attacker goal with 2:26 to play… Walker now has a point in three straight games (1-2-3)… Pheonix Copley (3-3, 2.32, .924) finished with 19 saves for Hershey… The Bears were 0-for-3 on the power play in Game 1, falling to 0-for-16 this postseason… Providence has been outshot 81-61 in the first period of its six playoff games, but has outscored its opponents 8-0… Hershey has lost three consecutive home games in the same postseason for the first time in the franchise’s 79-year history.

In the 2017 IIHF World Championships yesterday, William Nylander recorded two goals and an assist as Sweden defeated Germany, 7-2… 2012 Calder Cup champion Radko Gudas scored in the Czech Republic’s 6-1 win over Belarus.

May 7, 2015 – Curtis Hamilton scores 16 seconds into the fourth overtime period to give Oklahoma City a 2-1 win over Utica in Game 1 of their second-round series… The Barons’ Richard Bachman (56 saves) and the Comets’ Jacob Markstrom (65 saves) combine to stop 121 of 124 shots in the five-hour, 12-minute marathon.
May 7, 1975 – The Springfield Indians capture the Calder Cup with a 4-0 win over New Haven.
