Grand Rapids holds a 2-1 series lead over Chicago in the Central Division Finals heading into tonight’s Game 4 at Van Andel Arena… The Griffins doubled up the Wolves, 4-2, to take Game 3 on Saturday night… Matthew Ford (4-1-5) opened the scoring just 5:09 into the contest and Ben Street (2-5-7) and Tyler Bertuzzi (3-5-8) scored 30 seconds apart to chase Wolves starter Ville Husso (4-4, 2.89, .910) at the 10:30 mark of the first period… Bertuzzi has points in all six Griffins games this postseason, and now has 17-11-28 in 29 career playoff contests… Chicago cut the deficit to 3-2 on goals by Chris Butler (1-4-5) and Mackenzie MacEachern (2-1-3), but Joe Hicketts (1-2-3) restored the Griffins’ two-goal cushion 16 seconds after MacEachern’s goal early in the third period… Tomas Nosek (3-3-6) and Martin Frk (1-3-4) notched two assists each in Game 3 for Grand Rapids, which has scored 23 goals in its six postseason games (3.83 avg.)… After allowing seven goals in Game 2, Jared Coreau (5-1, 2.69, .910) bounced back and made 27 saves in the Game 3 win… Jordan Binnington, who was 9-1-5 in his last 15 decisions during the regular season for Chicago, stopped 30 of 31 shots in relief in his first appearance of these playoffs.

In the 2017 IIHF World Championships yesterday, Syracuse Crunch alumni Vladislav Namestnikov (2g, 2a) and Nikita Kucherov (1g, 3a) each tallied four points in Russia’s 10-1 win over Italy… Tyson Barrie recorded a goal and three assists as Canada defeated Slovenia, 7-2… Anders Lee scored twice for the United States in a 7-2 win over Denmark… Antoine Roussel scored twice in France’s 5-1 win over Finland… Zemgus Girgensons notched a goal and an assist as Latvia beat Slovakia, 3-1… Cody Almond tallied a goal and two assists to lead Switzerland to a 3-0 win over Norway.
