A week after sweeping a pair of games in Newfoundland, Toronto welcomes St. John’s to Ricoh Coliseum for a Sunday matinee… The Marlies are the only team in the AHL without a regulation loss at home (7-0-2-0), while the IceCaps are the only team in the AHL without a regulation loss on the road (also 7-0-2-0)… Greg Scott tallied two goals and two assists as Toronto defeated Houston, 4-0, yesterday afternoon… Mark Owuya (5-2-1, 1.78, .936) made 20 saves for his first AHL shutout… St. John’s is also coming off a 4-0 win, posted Friday night in Hamilton… David Aebischer stopped 21 shots for his first win since Oct. 22.

Hershey heads to Bridgeport for its first visit of the season to Webster Bank Arena this afternoon… The Bears filled the nets in a 7-1 win over Portland last night, their third seven-goal game of the season… Graham Mink (2g, 1a), Ryan Potulny (2g, 1a), Matthew Ford (1g, 2a) and Jacob Micflikier (3a) all had three points in the game for Hershey, which enters today’s game two points behind idle Norfolk and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton atop the East Division… Bridgeport took a 3-1 decision from Albany last night, with Kevin Poulin making 35 saves to preserve the victory… Tyler McNeely, Casey Cizikas and Rhett Rakhshani scored for the Sound Tigers… Hershey is tops in the AHL on the power play (31.3 percent), while Bridgeport is tied for second on the penalty kill (87.6 percent).

Fresh off a stirring comeback in Springfield last night, Connecticut welcomes Binghamton to the XL Center this afternoon… The Whale scored five power-play goals in the third period to knock off the Falcons, 6-3… Andre Deveaux scored twice and Jonathan Audy-Marchessault notched a goal and two assists as Connecticut improved to 5-3-0-1 this season when trailing after two periods… The Senators lost in Worcester last night, 2-1… Pat Cannone scored his sixth goal of the season and Mike McKenna finished with 33 saves after taking a shutout into the final seven minutes of the third… Binghamton has dropped seven of its last eight road games; Connecticut is 5-1-0-1 at home.

Worcester and Manchester meet for the fifth time this season as the Sharks travel to the Verizon Wireless Arena… The Monarchs have won three straight from Worcester, all by one-goal margins… The Sharks, who began the weekend with wins over Springfield and Binghamton, are bidding for their first three-game winning streak since a five-game run from Jan. 28 to Feb. 11, 2011… After going nine games without a point, Ryan Del Monte has 2-1-3 in his last two games for Worcester, including the winning goal in last night’s 2-1 victory over the Senators… Manchester has won seven of its last eight games, including a 5-4 shootout victory over Providence last night… Monarchs Defenseman Nick Deslauriers, a third-round draft pick by Los Angeles in 2009, recorded two assists for his first pro points last night.

Portland visits Springfield today in the teams’ second meeting of the season… The Pirates entered the weekend with points in seven straight games, but were outscored 11-2 in back-to-back losses to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Hershey… Ryan Duncan scored the only Portland goal in last night’s 7-1 loss to the Bears, his first goal in 11 games… Dane Byers scored twice in the Falcons’ 6-3 loss to Connecticut last night, Springfield’s fifth straight defeat… The Falcons are 6-2-1-0 this season against Atlantic Division teams, including a 4-1 win over Portland on Nov. 11.

Rochester visits Albany in an out-of-conference battle between in-state foes… Derek Whitmore and Colin Stuart scored and Mark Voakes recorded his second straight two-assist night in the Americans’ 3-2 loss in Hamilton last night… Albany settled for a split of its home-and-home with Bridgeport, losing 3-1 last night… Chad Wiseman scored the only Devils goal last night, his first since Oct. 9… Albany outshot Bridgeport 72-39 in Friday’s and Saturday’s games combined… The Devils are 10-0-2-1 in one-goal games this season… Rochester has lost three in a row on the road; Albany is 6-0-1-1 in its last eight on home ice.

Lake Erie visits Charlotte this evening to open a two-game set against the Checkers… .Charlotte’s five-game winning streak was snapped last night by Texas, 4-2, with Brett Sutter and Drayson Bowman scoring for the Checkers… Lake Erie improved to 6-1-0-1 in its last eight games with a 4-1 win in Rockford on Friday… Ryan Stoa scored twice and Trevor Cann, making his third straight start, stopped 34 of 35 shots in the win… After scoring five times in his last six outings, the Monsters’ Hugh Jessiman (8-2-10) — a member of the ECHL Checkers from 2005-07 — has as many goals in 18 games this season as he did in 50 games in 2010-11… Charlotte ranks third in the AHL allowing 2.52 goals per game.

Abbotsford returns to Chicago to close out the weekend against the Wolves… The Heat were 3-2 shootout winners at Allstate Arena on Friday night, then earned a 2-1 win in Rockford last night… The Heat, 13-3-0-0 on the road this season, got the winning goal from Ben Walter with 1:20 left in regulation last night… Walter and Krys Kolanos both had a goal and an assist in the victory… Chicago’s winless streak hit three games (0-1-1-1) with a 5-4 overtime loss in Grand Rapids last night… Mark Mancari needed just 4:20 late in the second period to score three goals last night, his sixth career AHL hat trick… Darren Haydar assisted on all three of Mancari’s goals, putting him two points shy of 700 for his AHL career (258-440-698).

Rockford visits Peoria this evening, already the seventh of 12 meetings on the year between the teams… The Rivermen have lost six of their last seven contests, including last night’s 3-2 defeat to Milwaukee… The IceHogs have dropped three in a row after last night’s 2-1 loss to Abbotsford… Brett McLean scored the only goal last night for the ‘Hogs, who have totaled three goals in their last three contests after scoring 13 in their previous two… Jonathan Cheechoo and T.J. Hensick scored power-play goals for the Rivermen last night… Cade Fairchild returned from a stint with St. Louis and recorded two assists, but his minus-1 rating for the night was his first minus all season (20 GP).
