Game 2 - 8:00 ET, Leafs TV, AHL Live, NHL Home Ice Radio (TOR leads series, 1-0)
Toronto raced out of the gates and grabbed the early lead in the Western Conference Finals with a 5-0 win in Game 1 at Oklahoma City last night; the teams get right back at it in Game 2 tonight at the Cox Convention Center... Marcel Mueller and Nicolas Deschamps each had a goal and an assist for the Marlies and Ben Scrivens made 31 saves as Toronto earned its fifth consecutive win... Mueller (2-3-5) now has five points in his last five games... Matt Frattin (6-2-8) scored his sixth playoff goal, tying teammate Jerry D'Amigo (6-4-10) for the AHL lead... Frattin has scored 20 goals in 32 regular-season and playoff games with the Marlies this year... Joe Colborne (1-4-5), who sat out the last two games in the second round, ended a 30-game drought with his first goal in exactly three months (Feb. 17 vs. Rockford)... Jake Gardiner (2-4-6) also scored, and Nazem Kadri (3-7-10) and Philippe Dupuis (2-6-8) tallied two assists each... Scrivens, with seven goals allowed on 185 shots over his last six starts (1.15, .962), now leads the AHL in playoff wins (eight), shutouts (two, tied), goals-against average (1.43) and save percentage (.951)... Yann Danis, who stopped 27 of 32 shots last night, is 12-2-0 this season following a Barons regulation loss... Magnus Paajarvi led Oklahoma City with seven shots on goal in Game 1, a team high for the 2012 postseason... Game 1 matched Toronto's largest margin of victory this season (also done four times in the regular season), and was Oklahoma City's most lopsided loss since a 7-0 defeat at Texas on opening night (Oct. 9)... Dating back to the regular season, four of the Barons' last five losses have been via shutout.
From Calder to Stanley
Dwight King's third-period goal, his fourth goal of the series, broke a 1-1 tie and sent Los Angeles to a 2-1 victory over Phoenix in Game 3 of the NHL's Western Conference Finals last night... The Kings lead the series, 3-0... Jonathan Quick made 18 saves to improve his playoff record to 11-1... Both NHL conference finals are off tonight.
