In Thursday’s lone action, Nathan Oystrick broke a late 3-3 tie and Drew MacIntyre made 41 saves as Chicago took a 5-3 win at San Antonio… On Wednesday, Matthew Ford scored twice to help Lake Erie past Hamilton, 5-3… Taylor Chorney scored at 4:56 of overtime to lift Springfield to a 4-3 win at Worcester… Cory Schneider made 35 saves for his third shutout of the season as Manitoba blanked Abbotsford, 3-0… Syracuse extended its points streak to five games (4-0-0-1) with a 3-2 victory in Lowell.

LOOKING AHEAD:
The top two teams in the East Division battle on Friday when Hershey (60 points) visits Albany (46 points) at the Times Union Center… The Bears are 14-3-0-0 since the beginning of December, but two of the three losses came in Albany (Dec. 4 and Dec. 11)… 2010 AHL All-Stars Keith Aucoin (5-9-14) and Alexandre Giroux (3-6-9) are each riding eight-game scoring streaks for the Bears, and fellow AHL All-Star Andrew Gordon has a point in five straight games (3-2-5)… Hershey rookie Braden Holtby leads all AHL netminders in goals-against average (1.63) and save percentage (.943) in 14 appearances (11-2-1)… Jacob Micflikier shows 1-3-4 in his last two games for the River Rats, who are 15-6-1-1 at home this season… Rookie Zach Boychuk paces Albany’s active roster with 13 goals and 24 points in 34 outings… The River Rats show a 16-1-1-1 mark when they score the game’s first goal, while Hershey is 20-2-0-2 after striking first.

Milwaukee and Manitoba clash for a two-game set this weekend at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg… The Admirals (50 points) are tied for first in the West Division and 12-5-0-1 in their last 18 tilts, and the Moose – 6-1-0-1 in their last eight – place second in the North Division… Rookie defenseman Evan Oberg shows a three-game scoring streak (0-4-4) for the Moose, and Guillaume Desbiens is coming off his first two-goal effort of the season on Wednesday at Abbotsford… Manitoba goaltender Cory Schenider ranks second in the league with 19 victories in 29 outings (19-9-1, 2.17, .927)… The Admirals have already captured a pair of victories of the Moose in Milwaukee this season… Mike Santorelli racked up five points (2-3-5) in those two games and is on a three-game scoring streak overall (2-2-4) since returning from parent-club Nashville… Hugh Jessiman broke a 13-game drought with two goals on Wednesday at Chicago.

Atlantic Division-leading Manchester plays each of its three closest pursuers this weekend, hosting Lowell on Friday before visiting Worcester on Saturday and welcoming Hartford on Sunday… The Monarchs, who are a combined 7-6-1-1 against those three teams this season, have earned a point in four straight overall (2-0-0-2)… Marc-Andre Cliche has notched four goals in his last four contests for Manchester after totaling six goals in his first 35 games this year… Rookie Corey Elkins leads the Monarchs on the campaign with 11 goals and 26 points in 37 tilts… First-year defenseman Matt Taormina has a point in six straight games (1-5-6) for the Devils after going scoreless in his previous six… Lowell’s top-ranked power play (23.6 percent) will battle Manchester’s third-ranked penalty kill (88.1 percent).

2009 AHL All-Star Mike Brodeur made 32 saves for his first career NHL shutout on Thursday as Ottawa beat the N.Y. Rangers, 2-0… Elsewhere Thursday, 2010 AHL All-Star Keaton Ellerby made his NHL debut in Florida’s 3-2 win over Tampa Bay… Tyler Bozak, who has 20 points in 32 AHL games this year, scored his first career NHL goal in Toronto’s 4-0 win over Philadelphia.
