LOOKING BACK:
In Tuesday’s only action, Houston rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the shootout on goals by Jean-Michel Daoust, Chad Rau and Colton Gillies to capture a 4-3 win over Hamilton… Tom Pyatt scored in both regulation and the shootout for the Bulldogs… Despite the setback, Hamilton remains the only team in the AHL without a regulation loss this season (6-0-1-2).

LOOKING AHEAD:
Chicago hosts Rockford on Wednesday for the in-state rivals’ third clash of the season; the home team has won each of the first two meetings… The Wolves are coming off a 7-1 win over Abbotsford on Saturday, a game in which Spencer Machacek (2-2-4), Brett Sterling (1-3-4) and Jason Krog (1-3-4) – who is currently on NHL recall to Atlanta – registered four points each… Machacek paces Chicago with eight points overall (2-5-8), and Sterling shows six points (2-4-6) in four contests… Rookie Andrew Kozek has put up three goals and four points in his last three games for the Wolves… Mark Cullen boasts a team-high five goals and 10 points for the IceHogs, who have dropped their last three road contests… Kyle Greentree is riding a three-game scoring streak (1-3-4), and Jack Skille has netted a goal in his last two outings (2-1-3).

Abbotsford continues a six-game road trip with a stop at the Bradley Center to battle Milwaukee on Wednesday… The Heat have been outscored 13-2 in their last two games and have dropped three straight overall to begin the trip… Jamie Lundmark paces Abbotsford with 10 points (4-6-10) in 11 contests; both Lundmark (0-3-3) and John Armstrong (1-2-3) put up three points in two victories against Milwaukee on Oct. 16 and 17… Jason Jaffray has nine points for the Heat (5-4-9) but is scoreless in back-to-back games for the first time this year… Peter Olvecky has registered a point in five of his last six games (2-5-7) for the Admirals, who are in midst of playing six out of seven games at home… Three of Milwaukee’s top four scorers – Mike Santorelli, Cal O’Reilly and Alexander Sulzer – are on NHL recall to Nashville.

Houston takes its three-game winning streak on the road to Grand Rapids on Thursday for the first of a two-game set with the Griffins… The Aeros have collected three straight road victories since dropping their season opener at Manitoba on Oct. 2… Jean-Michel Daoust (2-4-6) and Robbie Earl (3-2-5) are setting the pace offensively for Houston, which is one of two AHL teams yet to feature a four-goal scorer on the young campaign… Former first-round draft pick Colton Gillies has an assist in back-to-back games (0-2-2) for Houston after going scoreless in his previous five outings… The Griffins also enter Thursday’s tilt on a three-game winning streak after taking three straight at home last weekend… Jeremy Williams netted a goal in all three contests (3-0-3) for Grand Rapids, while Evan McGrath is riding a four-game scoring run (1-3-4)… Michael Nylander shows five power-play assists in the first three games of a conditioning stint with the Griffins.

The AHL’s last two Calder Cup runners-up go head-to-head as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton begins a three-game Canadian road trip at Manitoba on Thursday… It marks the teams’ first meeting since Jan. 24, 2007, and the Penguins’ first visit to Winnipeg since Oct. 27, 2006… The Pens bring a four-game points streak to town (3-0-1-0) but dropped a 2-1 overtime decision at Bridgeport in their most recent outing on Saturday… Mark Letestu has a point in all four games (2-3-5) for the Pens since returning from injury, and Tim Wallace is on a three-game scoring streak (2-1-3)… Manitoba, which fell in overtime at Milwaukee on Saturday, is 4-0-0-0 this season following a loss… Marty Murray has found the scoresheet in five of his last six games (1-4-5) for the Moose… Third-year pros John Curry (61-29-4) of Wilkes-Barre and Cory Schneider (55-25-3) of Manitoba are a combined 62 games over .500 for their AHL careers.

2008 AHL All-Star goaltender Jimmy Howard made 20 saves in a relief effort to pick up his first win of the season as Detroit rallied past Vancouver on Tuesday night, 5-4… Rookie head coach Joe Sacco and the Colorado Avalanche improved to an NHL-best 9-1-2 with a 3-0 win at Edmonton… On Monday night, two-time AHL All-Star Jeff Tambellini netted a pair of goals but the N.Y. Islanders dropped a 3-2 overtime decision at Montreal.
