LOOKING AHEAD:
Fourth-place Bridgeport has a one-point lead over Albany in the East Division playoff chase as the teams battle Wednesday night at the Times Union Center… The foes are meeting for the sixth of eight times this season… River Rats captain Keith Aucoin, who has soared to fourth in the AHL scoring race, has lit up the Sound Tigers for four goals and eight assists in five games this season… Rookie defenseman Brett Carson had a goal and an assist during Albany’s five-goal second period in a 5-2 win over Syracuse on Sunday… Bridgeport, which is kicking off a five-game road swing, has lost seven of its last eight away from home… Eric Boguniecki has tallied 13 points (4g, 9a) during his current six-game scoring streak for the Sound Tigers… Jeff Tambellini has three goals and three assists in his last three AHL games.

Providence hosts Worcester on Wednesday with the Sharks coming in two points back of the final postseason spot in the Atlantic… The Bruins have won five of the last six meetings between the teams, most recently a 6-1 thumping on Mar. 2… David Krejci, who had two goals and two assists in that one, has found the scoresheet in 20 of his last 21 games with the P-Bruins (17g, 15a) and now ranks fourth among all AHL rookies in scoring… Worcester has gone 5-2-0-2 in its last nine games, all started by Thomas Greiss, but has lost seven of its last nine on the road… Mike Iggulden has five goals and five assists for 10 points in his last 10 outings for the Sharks.

First-place Chicago and fourth-place Peoria both try to strengthen their respective positions when the clubs meet at Allstate Arena on Wednesday… The Wolves have won six of seven meetings with their downstate rivals this season, averaging 5.0 goals per game… Jason Krog has 13 points in four games against the Rivermen, including two hat tricks and one seven-point effort… Brett Sterling’s 46 goals this season include a league-best 20 on the power play… Mike Glumac has nine goals and three assists in his last seven games for Peoria… Peter Ferraro has five points in five games since joining the Rivermen… Peoria has allowed 20 goals over the first four games of its seven-game road swing (0-3-0-1).

Islanders… 2006 AHL All-Stars Jiri Hudler and Valtteri Filppula recorded a goal and an assist each as Detroit beat Nashville, 5-2… Brent Burns scored the winning goal in Minnesota’s 3-2 overtime win in Vancouver… Bill Guerin had a hat trick in San Jose’s 7-1 win over Chicago… On Monday, Noah Clarke scored his first career NHL goal for Los Angeles in a 5-1 win over Edmonton, becoming the first native Southern Californian to score for the Kings.
