On Tuesday, Stephen Werner netted a pair of third-period goals to help Milwaukee edge Grand Rapids, 3-2… David Van der Gulik and John Armstrong each had a goal and an assist as Quad City dropped Iowa, 6-2… Ben Walter, Trevor Smith and Mike Iggulden scored in the third period to lead Bridgeport to a 3-1 road win over San Antonio.

North Division-leading Syracuse visits Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for the second time in four days on Wednesday… The Crunch took a 4-3 win over the Penguins on Sunday to extend their points streak to six games (5-0-0-1)… Derek MacKenzie netted a pair of goals in that game and now shows three goals and six points in four tilts since returning from injury… Mike York has registered five assists in his last two outings for Syracuse and leads the team with 16 points overall (3-13-16)… Rookie defenseman Kris Russell has a point in three of his last four games (2-3-5)… Wilkes-Barre’s Chris Minard sports a 14-game scoring streak to begin the season (14-10-24), one shy of the Penguins franchise record… Minard leads the AHL in goals and is tied for second in points… Janne Pesonen has a goal in three straight games (3-1-4) and a point in six of his last seven (3-5-8) for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Manchester kicks off a five-game Western Conference road trip on Wednesday in Hamilton, marking the teams’ first meeting since the 2005-06 campaign… Third-year pro Gabe Gauthier leads the Monarchs with 11 points (3-8-11) in 12 games, and he shows four points (1-3-4) over his last three outings… Reigning AHL Rookie of the Year Teddy Purcell has three points (2-1-3) in his last two games after going scoreless in his previous five contests… Second-year forward Trevor Lewis, a first-round draft pick (17th overall) by Los Angeles in 2006, ranks second on the team with nine points (3-6-9)… Hamilton has won seven of its last nine overall (7-2-0-0) and shows a 3-1-0 all-time record against Manchester… Matt D’Agostini is tied for second in the AHL with 12 goals (12-7-19) and has lit the lamp in four straight games (6-0-6) for the Bulldogs, including two straight game-winners… Ryan Russell tallied a hat trick in the Bulldogs’ 5-2 win over Rochester on Sunday… Hamilton has tallied a league-leading seven shorthanded goals, already one more than the team scored all of last season.

Portland takes its seven-game winning streak – second-longest in the AHL this season – into Hartford on Wednesday for a meeting with the Wolf Pack… The Pirates are 9-0-1-0 in their last 10 games, the only blemish being a 3-2 overtime loss in Hartford on Oct. 29… Portland’s Nathan Gerbe (12-7-19) and Tim Kennedy (4-15-19) are tied for the AHL rookie lead in scoring… Mark Mancari has matched an AHL season high by netting a goal in six straight games (7-6-13), and his 24 points on the season (11-13-24) are tied for second-most in the league… Mathieu Darche shows a goal in three straight outings (5-1-6), and goaltender Jhonas Enroth sports a personal six-game winning streak… Hartford’s Greg Moore has four goals in his last five games after going without a goal in his first nine outings… Artem Anisimov (1-6-7) and Bobby Sanguinetti (1-4-5) have each found the scoresheet in four of their last five contests.

In Tuesday’s action, Kris Versteeg netted his sixth goal of the season to help Chicago to a 3-2 shootout win at Phoenix; Versteeg posted 49 points in 56 AHL games with Rockford in 2007-08… On Monday, defenseman Matt Hunwick tallied his first career NHL goal in Boston’s 3-2 win at Toronto… Devin Setoguchi posted a goal and an assist as league-leading San Jose rolled on with a 4-1 win at Nashville.
