Albany closes out preseason, beats Lehigh Valley 2-1

(thealbanydevils.com) – Raman Hrabarenka and Graham Black each scored on the power play and Scott Wedgewood made 28 saves in an Albany Devils 2-1 victory Saturday. The contest against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at PPL Center was the final preseason game for Albany, which opens the regular season next Saturday at the Adirondack Flames.

 
Hrabarenka found the back of the net off a rebound at 15:10 of the first period. Tim Sestito and Brandon Burlon were credited with the assists.
 
After Paul Thompson drew a high-sticking penalty, Black cashed in at 2:31 of the third period. Joe Whitney had the first helper and Burlon picked up his second point.
 
Before the midway point of the period, Kevin Goumas made it a one-goal game at 9:56.
 
Wedgewood, who was playing in his first game this preseason, turned aside six shots in the first, 15 in the second and seven in the third. Additionally, he helped Albany go 4-4 on the penalty kill
