SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League announced today that Norfolk Admirals defenseman Anton Babchuk has been suspended for five (5) games as a result of his actions in an April 23, 2005, AHL game in Philadelphia.
Babchuk missed Game Three of Norfolk’s East Division Semifinal versus Philadelphia, and will also miss the Admirals’ next two Calder Cup playoff games in their series with the Phantoms.
The final two games will be served subsequently during the 2005 Calder Cup Playoffs and/or the 2005-06 AHL regular season.
