The Washington Capitals, parent club of the AHL’s Hershey Bears, on Thursday acquired forward Peter LeBlanc from the Chicago Blackhawks, parent club of the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs, in exchange for future considerations.
In addition, the Bears have traded forward Mathieu Beaudoin to the IceHogs in exchange for future considerations.
LeBlanc, 24, has appeared in 34 games with Rockford this season, and has recorded 12 points (four goals, eight assists). The 5-foot-11, 200-pound native of Hamilton, Ont., is coming off of his best year on offense last season, in which he led the IceHogs with 24 goals and finished second with 44 points.
The third-year pro out of the University of New Hampshire was originally selected by the Blackhawks in the seventh round (186th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Beaudoin, 28, has appeared in 32 games with the Bears this season, recording three goals and seven assists.
A Calder Cup finalist with Texas in 2010, Beaudoin set career highs in goals (21), assists (30) and points (51) with San Antonio in 2010-11.
The sixth-year pro out of Ohio State University has totaled 59 goals and 88 assists for 147 points in 269 career AHL games.
