Bears stick it to Amerks

Mike Souza scored three goals, Eric Perrin dished out four assists and Tom Lawson made 32 saves as Hershey posted a big 6-1 win over Rochester at the Blue Cross Arena on Friday night.

The loss brought a resounding end to the Americans’ 23-game home points streak (20-0-1-2), and allowed the Bears to keep their playoff hopes alive. Hershey trails Wilkes-Barre/Scranton by eight points for fourth place in the East Division.

Souza scored once in each period for the Bears, and Jeff Ulmer added a goal and two asists. Josh Olson and Mathieu Darche also scored.

Thomas Vanek had the lone Rochester goal on a second-period penalty shot.
