Beck named CCM/AHL Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League announced today that Bakersfield Condors forward Taylor Beck has been selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Nov. 6, 2016.

Beck appeared in three games for Bakersfield last week, tallying three goals and five assists for eight points along with a plus-4 rating.

On Wednesday night, Beck netted his first two goals of the season and also recorded an assist as the Condors defeated San Antonio, 7-1. He assisted on the only Bakersfield goal in a 3-1 loss to Texas on Friday night, then matched a career high with four points (one goal, three assists) as the Condors downed the Stars on Saturday, 5-3. Beck was recalled by Edmonton on Sunday morning and joined the team in Detroit, where he made his Oilers debut in a 2-1 win over the Red Wings that evening.

A sixth-year pro from St. Catharines, Ont., Beck is currently tied for sixth in the AHL scoring race with 12 points (three goals, nine assists) in eight games for Bakersfield. He has totaled 64 goals and 113 assists for 177 points in 251 career AHL games with Bakersfield, Bridgeport, San Antonio and Milwaukee, as well as 11 goals and 12 assists in 88 National Hockey League contests with Edmonton, the New York Islanders and Nashville. Beck, who was selected by the Predators in the third round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, signed as a free agent with the Oilers on July 3, 2016.

In recognition of his achievement, Beck will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Condors home game.
