Blue Jackets acquire D’Amigo

The Columbus Blue Jackets, parent club of the AHL’s Springfield Falcons, have acquired forward Jerry D’Amigo and a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2015 draft from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for forward Matt Frattin.

D’Amigo, 23, has played the last four seasons with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, recording 57 goals and 61 assists for 118 points in 240 regular-season games, along with 15 goals and 21 assists for 36 points in 40 postseason contests.

Drafted by the Maple Leafs in 2009, D’Amigo had 33 points (20g, 13a) in 51 games for the Marlies in 2013-14, and added 14 points in 14 playoff games as the Marlies reached the Western Conference Finals.

D’Amigo also made his NHL debut and played 22 games for the Maple Leafs in 2013-14, earning one goal and two assists.
