Blues acquire Sundqvist from Penguins

The St. Louis Blues acquired 23-year-old center Oskar Sundqvist, along with the 31st overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft, from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for forward Ryan Reaves and their second-round pick (No. 51 overall).

Sundqvist made his NHL debut with the Penguins in the 2015-16 season and has played in 18 games for Pittsburgh, registering one goal and three assists. In 63 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the American Hockey League in 2016-17, Sundqvist tallied 20 goals and 26 assists for 46 points along with a plus-12 rating.

As a rookie in 2015-16, Sundqvist notched five goals and 12 assists for 17 points in 45 games with Wilkes-Barre.

A native of Boden, Sweden, Sundqvist was a third-round pick of Pittsburgh in 2012.
