Blues re-sign Welsh for 2015-16

The St. Louis Blues, NHL affiliate of the AHL’s Chicago Wolves, signed forward Jeremy Welsh to a one-year, two-way contract on Tuesday.

Welsh, 27, appeared in 75 games with the Wolves last season, ranking fourth on the club with 41 points including 20 goals and 21 assists. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound forward also added two points (one goal, one assist) in five postseason contests.

Overall, the Bayfield, Ont., native has appeared in 25 career National Hockey League (NHL) regular-season games, including stints with Vancouver and Carolina, totaling two points (one goal, one assist) and 10 penalty minutes. Welsh has also accumulated 82 points (41 goals, 41 assists) and 62 penalty minutes in 193 career AHL regular-season games and five points (one goal, four assists) in 10 AHL postseason appearances.
