Blues sign Caron, Harrold

The St. Louis Blues, NHL affiliate of the AHL’s Chicago Wolves, have signed forward Jordan Caron and defenseman Peter Harrold to one-year, two-way contracts.

Caron, 24, was scoreless in 30 NHL games between Boston and Colorado last season, and also had nine goals and 10 assists for 19 points in 23 AHL games with the Providence Bruins.

Overall, Caron has skated in 134 regular-season AHL games, all with Providence, notching 36 goals and 42 assists for 78 points. The native of Sayabec, Que., has also accumulated 12 goals and 16 assists for 28 points in 153 NHL games.

Caron was originally drafted by Boston in the first round (25th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Harrold, 32, posted three goals and two assists in 43 regular-season games with the NHL’s New Jersey Devils and one goal and one assist in 13 regular-season games with AHL Albany last season.

Over his career, Harrold has appeared in 185 AHL games with Albany and Manchester, recording 20 goals and 85 assists for 105 points. He participated in the AHL All-Star Classic in 2007 and 2008.

The native of Kirtland Hills, Ohio, has also amassed 42 points (13 goals, 29 assists) in 274 career NHL regular-season games, and reached the Stanley Cup Final with New Jersey in 2012.
