Blues sign Syvret

The St. Louis Blues, parent club of the AHL’s Peoria Rivermen, announced today the club has signed defenseman Danny Syvret to a one-year contract.

Syvret, 26, recorded 10 goals and 30 assists for 40 points in 59 AHL games last season split between Syracuse and Adirondack. He also had one goal and one assist in 10 NHL games with Anaheim and Philadelphia.

Over six professional seasons, Syvret has appeared in 332 AHL games with Adirondack/Philadelphia, Syracuse, Hershey, Springfield, Grand Rapids and Hamilton, registering 33 goals and 137 assists for 170 points. He was a member of the Canadian team at the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic.

Syvret also shows three goals and four assists for seven points in 59 career NHL games with Anaheim, Philadelphia and Edmonton. The native of Millgrove, Ont., was originally drafted by Edmonton (third round) in 2005.
