Bulldogs take bite out of Road Runners

Tomas Plekanec scored twice and Jason Ward had three points as Hamilton posted a 7-4 victory over Edmonton at Copps Coliseum on Friday night.

Plekanec, who will play in his second straight AHL All-Star Classic this weekend, has 19 goals on the season.

Hamilton scored four times in the first period, with Antti Miettinen and Corey Locke staking the Dogs to a 2-0 lead just 3:10 into the game.

Andrei Kostitsyn and Steve Ott also scored for the Bulldogs, who ended a four-game winless streak.
