Canucks add Bachman, Fedun

The Vancouver Canucks, parent club of the AHL’s Utica Comets, have signed goaltender Richard Bachman to a two-year deal and defenseman Taylor Fedun to a one-year deal.

Bachman, 27, went 14-5-3 with a 2.38 goals-against average, a .918 save percentage and three shutouts in 23 AHL appearances with Oklahoma City in 2014-15, and helped the Barons to the second round of the Calder Cup Playoffs with a 5-4 record (1.55, .953) in nine outings. He also represented the Barons at the 2015 AHL All-Star Classic, and was the All-Star Game winning goalie for the Western Conference.

The native of Salt Lake City, Utah, has played 159 career AHL games with Oklahoma City and Texas, and has posted a record of 84-54-15 with a 2.57 GAA, a .916 save percentage and 14 shutouts.

Originally drafted by Dallas in 2006 (fourth round), Bachman has appeared in 42 career NHL games with Dallas and Edmonton, going 17-14-2 with two shutouts.

Fedun, 27, collected six goals and 28 assists for 34 points in 65 AHL games with the Worcester Sharks in 2014-15, and added four assists in seven NHL contests with San Jose.

Fedun has skated in 200 AHL games over his three professional seasons, totaling 24 goals and 75 assists for 99 points. The Edmonton, Alta., native has also appeared in 11 career NHL games with San Jose and Edmonton, posting two goals and four assists.
