Canucks add Climie

Vancouver Canucks president and general manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks, parent club of the AHL’s Chicago Wolves, have signed goaltender Matt Climie.

Clime, 28, spent the 2010-11 season with the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage, posting a record of 26-22-3 with a 2.64 goals-against average and a save percentage of .913. He also appeared in one game for the Phoenix Coyotes, stopped 15 of 16 shots in 32 minutes of work.

The Leduc, Alta., native has played in 104 career regular-season AHL games with San Antonio, Texas and Iowa, posting a record of 48-43-7 with six shutouts. He helped Houston reach the Western Conference Finals in 2009, and got to the Calder Cup Finals with Texas in 2010.

Climie has also made five career NHL appearances with Dallas and Phoenix.
