Canucks add Motte from Columbus

The Vancouver Canucks have acquired forwards Tyler Motte and Jussi Jokinen from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for forward Thomas Vanek.

Motte, 22, has nine goals and two assists for 11 points in 17 AHL games with the Cleveland Monsters this season. He has also tallied three goals and two assists for five points in 31 NHL games for the Blue Jackets.

A fourth-round draft pick by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2013, Motte has appeared in 65 career AHL games with Cleveland and Rockford, registering 21 goals and 11 assists for 32 points. The second-year pro also has 12 points (7g, 5a) in 64 NHL games with Columbus and Chicago.
