Canucks, Blues swap prospects

The Vancouver Canucks, parent club of the AHL’s Manitoba Moose, have acquired forward Yan Stastny from the St. Louis Blues, parent club of the AHL’s Peoria Rivermen, in exchange for forward Pierre-Cedric Labrie.

Stastny, who had been serving as Peoria’s team captain, has 10 goals and 17 assists for 27 points in 49 games with the Rivermen in 2009-10. In 223 AHL games with Peoria, Providence and Iowa, Stastny has tallied 63 goals and 78 assists for 141 points.

The 27-year-old native of Quebec City also has one goal in four games with St. Louis this season, and six goals and 10 assists in 91 career NHL games with St. Louis, Boston and Edmonton.

Stastny was originally an eighth-round draft choice by Boston in 2002.

Labrie, 23, is in his third pro season with Manitoba, recording five goals and one assist in 45 games on the year. In 175 career AHL contests, Labrie has registered 18 goals and 21 assists for 39 points.
