Canucks sign Ebbett

Vancouver Canucks president and general manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks, parent club of the AHL’s Chicago Wolves, have signed center Andrew Ebbett.

Ebbett, 28, appeared in 33 games for the Phoenix Coyotes in 2010-11, recording five points (2g, 3a) and four penalty minutes and played in three playoff games. The 5-foot-9, 174-pound center also recorded 38 points (11g, 27a) in 2010-11 in 37 AHL games with the San Antonio Rampage.

In 210 career regular-season AHL games with San Antonio, Iowa, Portland and Binghamton, Ebbett has recorded 65 goals and 139 assists for 204 points. He participated in the AHL All-Star Classic in 2008.

Ebbett has played in 145 career NHL games over the span of four seasons with the Anaheim Ducks, Chicago Blackhawks, Minnesota Wild and Phoenix Coyotes, collecting 52 points (19g, 33a) and 38 penalty minutes.
