Capitals sign Landry, Moore

The Washington Capitals, parent club of the AHL’s Hershey Bears, have signed defensemen Jon Landry and Mike Moore to one-year, two-way contracts.

Landry, 31, recorded 18 assists in 50 games with the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League last season. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound defenseman has totaled 10 goals and 61 assists for 71 points in 158 career AHL games with Iowa, Bridgeport and Portland.

Moore, 29, captained the Providence Bruins in 2013-14 and tallied seven goals and 14 assists for 21 points in 75 games. He has played 378 career AHL games with Providence, Milwaukee and Worcester, recording 26 goals and 83 assists for 109 points along with a plus-43 rating.

Moore, who has one goal in six career NHL games with San Jose, has earned his team’s IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year award for community service three times in his career.
