Cleveland signs Ohioan Camper to two-year pact

The Cleveland Monsters have signed Ohio native Carter Camper to a two-year American Hockey League contract.

Camper, a native of the Cleveland suburb of Rocky River, spent last season with the Albany Devils, notching six goals and 29 assists for 35 points in 47 regular-season games. He also scored twice in four Calder Cup Playoff matches.

An AHL All-Star in 2012, Camper has played 375 AHL games with Albany, Hershey, Binghamton, Springfield and Providence, totaling 71 goals and 198 assists for 269 points. He has 17 goals and 20 assists for 37 points in 42 career postseason contests as well, reaching the Calder Cup Finals with Hershey in 2016.

Undrafted out of Miami University, Camper has one goal in three career NHL games, all coming with Boston in 2011-12.
