Crunch, Marlies players trade places

The Anaheim Ducks, parent club of the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch, have acquired left wing Luca Caputi from the Toronto Maple Leafs, parent club of the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, in exchange for left wing Nicolas Deschamps.

Caputi and Deschamps swapped dressing rooms on Tuesday night as the Crunch and Marlies met at Ricoh Coliseum.

Caputi, 23, collected three points (2g, 1a) and 10 penalty minutes in 21 games this season for the Marlies. The Toronto native has 152 career AHL games and 100 career AHL points (44g, 56a) with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Toronto.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound winger has seen action in 35 NHL contests, recording nine points (3g, 6a) with Pittsburgh and Toronto.

Caputi was drafted in the fourth round, 111th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Deschamps recorded seven points (5g, 2a) in 31 games with the Crunch this season. He appeared in all 80 contests during the 2010-11 campaign recording 46 points (15g, 31a).

Deschamps was a second-round draft pick (35th overall) by Anaheim in 2008.
