Crunch sign DiSalvatore

The Syracuse Crunch have signed forward Jon DiSalvatore to a one-year American Hockey League contract.

DiSalvatore, who cleared AHL waivers on Monday afternoon, joins the Crunch after playing 22 games with EHC Red Bull Munchen in Germany’s Deutsche Eishockey Liga this season.

The 32-year-old veteran has played 10 seasons in the AHL since 2003, appearing in 746 regular-season games and totaling 224 goals and 316 assists for 540 points with Cleveland (2003-04), Worcester (2004-05), Peoria (2005-07), San Antonio (2007-08), Lowell (2008-09), Houston (2009-12) and Hershey (2012-13).

DiSalvatore, who scored at least 20 goals in each of his first nine AHL seasons, was named to the AHL Second All-Star Team in 2011-12 and was Houston’s leading scorer when they reached the Calder Cup Finals in 2011.

DiSalvatore has also appeared in six NHL contests with the St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild. He was originally selected by the Blues in the fourth round (104th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
