Dallas acquires Connauton

The Vancouver Canucks recalled defenseman Kevin Connauton from the Chicago Wolves on Tuesday and traded him to the Dallas Stars with a second-round selection in the 2013 National Hockey League Entry Draft in exchange for center Derek Roy.

Connauton ranked first among Chicago blueliners with seven goals and held second among team rearguards with 18 assists and 25 points in 60 outings this year.

The 23-year-old blueliner accumulated 16 points in 25 outings since Feb. 1 after notching nine points in 35 matchups during the first four months of the season.

The Edmonton, Alta., native ranked sixth on the Wolves and shared fourth among American Hockey League blueliners with 13 goals and paced team rearguards with 33 points in 71 games last season. He also represented the Wolves in the 2012 AHL All-Star Game and scored a goal in the contest.

Overall, Connauton accumulated 31 goals, 50 assists and 81 points in 206 career AHL tilts with Chicago and Manitoba.
