SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League announced today that Milwaukee Admirals goaltender Scott Darling has been selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Dec. 29, 2013.

In three appearances last week, Darling went 2-0-0 and stopped 65 of 66 shots, good for a 0.45 goals-against average and a .985 save percentage.

On Thursday night against Western Conference-leading Grand Rapids, Darling made 29 saves as Milwaukee defeated the Griffins, 4-1. On Friday night, Darling stopped all three shots he faced during a relief outing vs. Charlotte, and on Sunday, he made 33 saves for his third shutout of the season in Milwaukee’s 4-0 win at Iowa.

Darling has made 12 AHL appearances this season for Milwaukee, posting a record of 7-1-0 with a 1.43 goals-against average, a .955 save percentage and a league-lead-tying three shutouts. A 2007 draft pick by the Phoenix Coyotes, Darling is in his fourth professional season out of the University of Maine. The native of Lemont, Ill., signed with Milwaukee on Sept. 12, 2013.

In recognition of his achievement, Darling will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Admirals home game.
