Davison joins Marlies as assistant coach

The Toronto Marlies announced today the hiring of Rob Davison as the club’s new assistant coach.

Davison joins the Marlies after three seasons as an assistant coach in Europe, winning back-to-back Austrian league championships with Red Bull Salzburg in 2015 and 2016, and helping HC Dinamo Minsk of the KHL to a playoff berth in 2017.

Davison’s 14-year professional playing career included 382 games in the AHL with the Kentucky Thoroughblades, Cleveland Barons, Lowell/Albany Devils and Worcester Sharks. A 1998 draft pick by the San Jose Sharks, Davison played 219 games in the NHL with San Jose, the N.Y. Islanders, Vancouver and New Jersey.
