Ducks, Canes make swap

The Carolina Hurricanes today announced that the team has acquired right wing Craig Adams from the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in exchange for defenseman Bruno St. Jacques.

Adams will report to the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League.

Adams, 28, spent five seasons in the Carolina organization after being drafted by the organization in 1996. The Calgary native appeared in 22 AHL games with Lowell in 2001-02, recording five goals and four assists.

Adams has skated in 238 career NHL matches, all with Carolina, compiling 14 goals and 23 assists for 37 points.

St. Jacques, 25, has recorded seven goals and 48 assists for 55 points in 215 career AHL games with Lowell and Philadelphia since making his pro debut at the end of the 1999-2000 season.

St. Jacques had 14 points (2g, 12a) in 68 games with the Lock Monsters in 2004-05. He has appeared in 66 career NHL contests with Carolina and Philadelphia.
