Ducks ink Zolnierczyk to one-year deal

The Anaheim Ducks, parent club of the AHL’s San Diego Gulls, have signed left wing Harry Zolnierczyk to a one-year contract.

Zolnierczyk, 27, played 60 games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL) in 2014-15, scoring 18 goals and adding 26 assists for a career-high 44 points. He also skated in two NHL games with the New York Islanders last season.

A fifth-year pro out of Brown University, Zolnierczyk has notched 58 goals and 67 assists for 125 points in 233 career AHL games with Bridgeport, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Norfolk and Adirondack. He also has five goals and four assists in 59 career NHL games, played with the Islanders, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.

For Zolnierczyk, a native of Toronto, this is his second stint with the Ducks organization; he was acquired in a trade from Philadelphia on Apr. 1, 2013.
