Ducks, Predators make swap

The Anaheim Ducks, parent club of the AHL’s San Diego Gulls, have acquired right wing Max Gortz from the Nashville Predators, parent club of the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals, in exchange for left wing Andrew O’Brien.

Gortz, 23, has collected one goal and three assists in 30 games with Milwaukee this season. Selected by Nashville in the sixth round (172nd overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft, Gortz has recorded 19 goals and 32 assists for 51 points in 102 career AHL games, ranking second in scoring on the Admirals with 47 points last season.

O’Brien, 24, has tallied two assists in 10 games for San Diego this season. Selected by Anaheim in the fourth round (108th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft, O’Brien has totaled 10 goals and 20 assists for 30 points in 135 career AHL games with San Diego and Norfolk.
