Dumont, Crunch storm past Amerks in opener

Gabriel Dumont scored three times to lead the Syracuse Crunch to a 6-2 win over the Rochester Americans in Game 1 of the rivals’ North Division semifinal series on Friday night.

Game 2 is Saturday in Syracuse.

Dominik Masin broke a 2-2 tie early in the second period with his first career postseason goal, Brendan Bradley notched the first goal of his AHL career and Jamie McBain added a goal and two assists for the defending Eastern Conference champion Crunch.

Eddie Pasquale finished with 28 saves in the win.

Zach Redmond and Kyle Criscuolo scored for the Amerks.
