SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League has announced the following schedules for the two Eastern Conference semifinal series in the 2014 Calder Cup Playoffs:

The Eastern Conference quarterfinals ended tonight with the Providence Bruins knocking off the Springfield Falcons, 6-3, in their winner-take-all Game 5. The Eastern Conference saw all three division winners -- Manchester, Springfield and Binghamton -- eliminated in the first round of the Calder Cup Playoffs.

The Western Conference semifinal schedules will be set after the completion of Game 5 of the conference quarterfinal series between the Chicago Wolves and the Rochester Americans on Sunday.

More than 88 percent of all players competing in the NHL are AHL graduates, and through the years the American Hockey League has been home to more than 100 honored members of the Hockey Hall of Fame.
