ROCKFORD 4, MILWAUKEE 1
Derek Nesbitt tallied a pair of goals and goaltender Wade Flaherty (pictured) made 17 saves for his 300th professional victory as Rockford posted a 4-1 road win over Milwaukee on Monday at the Bradley Center.

Flaherty, who led the Admirals to a Calder Cup title in 2004, won his fourth straight decision and improved to 12-8-1 for the season. He is 300-244-62 in 673 career professional appearances, including 137-91-26 in 281 AHL games.

The IceHogs took a 2-0 lead on first-period goals by Michael Blunden and Nesbitt, and they upped the advantage to 3-0 on Nesbitt’s second of the night in the middle stanza.

Milwaukee’s Antti Pihlstrom tallied a power play goal at 13:26 of the third to make it 3-1, but Petri Kontiola scored an empty netter for Rockford at 17:42.

The victory allowed the IceHogs to open a four-point cushion on San Antonio for second place in the West Division race. Milwaukee, which is tied with Houston for fourth place, sits five points back of Rockford.
